Weekend Do’s and Don’ts

Posted on May 19, 2012

If you’re wondering what to do this weekend you could do a lot worse than follow the example set by the Black Country Ale Tairsters who have embarked on the world’s longest pub crawl.

The six friends from the West Midlands have spent the last 28 years drinking in a different pub every Saturday and to date have graced the bars of 16,337 hostelries.

Not only have the intrepid pub goers pledged to visit every pub in the West Midlands wearing fetching outfits fashioned from bar towels but they have transformed the beer range of their local pub, The Tame Bridge, with the ale knowledge acquired on their travels.

With pubs still closing at a rate of 12 per week the Great British pub needs more people like this.

Gentlemen, we salute you!

If instead you’ve visited a fine purveyor of beer to enjoy some hoppy delights on your sofa do NOT try this at home……

Go on, admit it, you were hoping he’d hurt himself!

Enjoy x
